A long time ago in a galaxy far far away someone introduced me to raising monarch butterflies. They continue to fascinate me.
This beautiful little lady is hanging on to the top of the leaf as she deposits an egg under it.
This is the egg under the leaf. Soon a caterpillar will emerge and start devouring the milkweed leaf it was born on…and a few more too as it matures.
This caterpillar is almost fully mature and is still devouring milkweed leaves.
